About Anne-Marie
“Life is meant to be lived with passion
and purpose, as if every day is our last.”
Whether she is steering a sailboat in the North Sea, leading a group on skis into the backcountry of Colorado, biking up Mount Ventoux in France, or hiking to an alpine lake in the Rocky Mountains, Anne-Marie is all in for adventure. She frequently walks the trails by her house in Vail Colorado to “bathe in the trees” and find inspiration for her music compositions. Anne-Marie channels her sense of adventure into her work, embracing fresh ideas and new sounds. There is nothing she likes better than to be challenged to write music she has not written before to tell a story that has never been told.

Anne-Marie enjoys collaborating with other people and creating innovative art and music. Her love of creating something from nothing and making things up as she goes along translates well into the world of film and dance music. Each project she works on is a new opportunity to create what has never existed before, to innovate with new sounds and ways of playing instruments. With music, there are infinite ways of combining instruments, notes, and rhythms to project every type of emotion, mood, or ambiance.

Anne-Marie is devoted to supporting, elevating, and celebrating the work of women. Throughout her business career, she has worked within companies to mentor, develop, and promote talented women, as well as made investments in women-owned businesses. In 2016, she founded Vail Women Elect, a political group that has raised over $760,000 to support women candidates running for political office in Colorado and nationally. Through her leadership, she has empowered over 100 Vail women donors and activists to use their voices both individually and collectively in the political process. In filmmaking, theater, and dance, Anne-Marie is particularly interested in working with teams where women play a significant role in a project’s creative development and production. She enjoys telling stories about women, the challenges they face, and their accomplishments in the face of adversity.
One of Anne-Marie’s priorities is serving others in her community. She and her husband support youth development in education, athletics, and the arts. She has served as Chair of the Board for Vail Mountain School and Dance Assist, a nonprofit that provided dance scholarships for local students. She currently serves on the board of the Vail Valley Foundation and works as an advisor to the Vail Very Young Composers Program in collaboration with the New York Philharmonic during their summer residence in Vail. By nurturing creativity and innovation among youth, she believes they will find their passions, become their best selves, and create change for a better world.

For Anne-Marie, music has always been about telling stories, communicating emotions, and moving through space. She grew up in Los Angeles, where, thanks to her parents, she developed a love for musical theater, symphony concerts, ballet, opera, and movies at an early age. She started studying classical piano and wrote her first composition at age five. At the age of eleven, she started studying ballet and, after a few years, also pursued jazz dance and musical theater. She continued to study piano while raising a family and pursuing a career in international business. Eventually, she was able to transition to composing music full-time.
As a lifelong learner, Anne-Marie returned to school in 2021 to study music composition. She earned a Master of Music in Film Scoring in June 2024 from Berklee College of Music. She has studied and written film cues with film score composers in Hollywood. She was commissioned by AVID Dance to write the music for “Untamed Woman,” a ballet choreographed by Ursula Verduzco that premiered in NYC in June 2024. She has also written scores for #MoCrazy Strong (2023) and Beyond Doubt (2024), films that tell stories about women overcoming adversity and building a new life for themselves.
In 2025, Anne-Marie is composing a new ballet for AVID Dance in collaboration with choreographer Cherice Barton. She is also involved as a music composer and executive producer for a number of films that are currently in post-production.
